Claremont Farm

A few weeks ago we took a trip to visit our stockist Claremont Farm on the Wirral.

Locally sourced produce is at the heart of everything they’re about on the farm. The Cafe serves up delicious dishes sourced locally and cooked by a talented team of chefs. Meanwhile, the Farm Shop sells produce grown on the farm itself, as well as in the surrounding area. What they don’t grow themselves they source as locally and as seasonally possible.

We had a chat with Helen, interrupting her as she stocked up their abundant fruit and veg display!

What's your job title and how long have you worked here?
I'm a shop floor supervisor, and I've been here for 3 and half years!

What's your favourite part of the job?
Oh, coming in to work every day! And serving our regulars customers, especially those who have become regulars since the pandemic, who really appreciate the range that we offer, and prefer to shop with us than the supermarkets.

What's your favourite food (other than Williams) from the shop?
I'd have to say the fruit and veg, it's the best you can buy locally, and we do sell absolutely beautiful eggs too.

How long has the shop been running?
The farm shop as it is now has been open for about eight years. The outdoor additions to expand the cafe were a necessity after Covid, but it's proven so popular it's a permanent fixture.

The original farm shop was opened around 30 years ago, but the farm has been in the Pimley family for generations. When we first opened, there was nothing like this on the Wirral, and we're proof that people here want to shop locally and buy high quality locally sourced produce.
